Electronics Test Technician – Boston, Lincolnshire – £25‑35,000
We’re looking for a hands‑on Electronics Technician to join a close‑knit engineering team working on cutting‑edge EV charge point technology. This technically varied role will involve PCB fault‑finding, rework, reprogramming, and product verification testing, while also contributing to the development of in‑house test equipment.
You should be comfortable working independently through a complex RMA queue as well as collaborating with design engineers on validation tasks. If you find satisfaction in diagnosing a tricky fault and seeing something work again, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- PCB fault‑finding, rework, and reprogramming
- Processing RMAs – diagnose, categorise, repair, and document
- Design verification and functional software testing
- Assembly of prototypes, test harnesses, and jigs
- Environmental, EMC, and ESD product testing
- Interpreting software test logs and reporting findings
- Supporting development of in‑circuit and end‑of‑line test equipment
- Integration testing between hardware devices and backend systems
- Documenting test results to a high standard
- Working with suppliers on outsourced test equipment specifications
What We’re Looking For
- HNC/HND/BTEC Level 4 or above in a STEM‑related subject (or equivalent experience)
- Solid PCB experience – solder repair, cable harness assembly, fault diagnosis
- Comfortable using test equipment and working from technical documentation
- Ability to interpret software test logs and troubleshoot systematically
- Self‑sufficient working style – can work independently for extended periods
- Curious about IoT and device‑to‑cloud communications – eager to learn
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident communicator comfortable working across engineering teams
