Role Overview

Support Worker at Dane House, Brighton – provide care for adults with severe learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviours. Work in a caring, team‑based environment supporting residents toward independence.

What you will be doing

  • Provide personal care, hygiene and support with daily activities.
  • Encourage residents to lead a valued and independent life.
  • Manage challenging behaviours with compassion and resilience.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families and multidisciplinary team.
  • Work full‑time, 37.5 hours per week on shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., with weekend rota.
  • Assist with community visits (valid UK driving licence preferred).

Requirements

  • Experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker.
  • Background in learning disabilities and autism.
  • Strong empathy, caring and compassionate nature.
  • Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour.
  • Positive attitude, resilience and professional approach.
  • Reliable, flexible, hard‑working and honest.
  • Valid UK driving licence is preferred.
  • Right to work in the UK full time (no 20‑hour Student or Skilled Worker Visas).
  • All candidates will be subject to DBS disclosure.
