Electrical Technician

Job Description

Working in the service department (of 6) and reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will run testing and calibration on circa 15–20 jobs per day. Using specialist calibration software, you will check the accuracy of the equipment and calibrate. After carrying out visual and basic electrical safety checks you will label appropriately, change batteries and clean the equipment before processing certification. If a unit fails calibration, you will check and adjust the equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Run testing and calibration on 15–20 jobs per day using specialist calibration software.
• Check the accuracy of equipment and calibrate as needed.
• Carry out visual and basic electrical safety checks.
• Label equipment, change batteries, and clean devices before certification.
• Adjust equipment when a unit fails to meet calibration standards.
• Maintain a systematic approach with high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification, or equivalent, or above.
• Good organisational skills and systematic approach to work.
• Some computer literacy and capacity to learn specialist calibration equipment.
• Ideally have exposure to mains / high voltage electrics.
