SEN Cover Supervisor

Do you enjoy working with young people and want to make a real difference every day? New Directions Education is looking for friendly, adaptable, and compassionate Cover Supervisors to support pupils across a range of schools and provisions in Pontefract.

This role is ideal if you’re passionate about inclusive education and want a rewarding position where no two days are the same. You’ll be helping students with additional learning needs feel safe, supported, and confident in their learning.

• Flexible and able to adapt your approach to suit different learners
• Patient, understanding, and resilient when supporting pupils who may sometimes find school challenging
• Passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential

You don’t need to be a qualified teacher – just a positive attitude, confidence, and a genuine desire to support young people.

What your day might look like:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities in SEN settings / classes
• Supporting pupils to stay engaged, encouraged, and focused
• Adjusting activities to suit individual needs, including autism, complex learning difficulties, and SEMH needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and helping create a calm, supportive classroom
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Making sure every child feels safe, respected, and valued
