Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join our facilities team at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

This is a permanent full‑time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00‑15:30 / 10:00‑18:30, shift times alternating weekly. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • To undertake maintenance of the building, including both PPM and reactive maintenance, and new installation tasks, as directed by the PPM schedule and management using appropriate trade skills
  • To order materials and services as required using ordering system and updating records, certify satisfactory delivery / completion
  • To oversee specialist contractors
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00‑15:30 / 10:00‑18:30 (shift times alternating weekly)

Who are we looking for?

  • Current M&E qualifications, such as City & Guilds / BTEC National Diploma / NVQ 2 or equivalent in a relevant electrical or mechanical trade discipline are desirable
  • Experience in building services is required
  • Willingness to attain cross skilling and to undertake training
  • General handyperson / building skills are essential
  • Good IT skills
  • Flexibility, good customer service and communication skills are also vital
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, formal training an advantage
  • Must have evidence of the right to work in the UK
  • May be required to undergo a Disclosure check
