Contract Type Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Term‑time only

Pay £92.45 – £95 per day, £462.25 – £475 per week (weekly pay)

Job Purpose

We are currently looking for a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs within a specialist school in Erdington. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with physical, sensory, and communication needs to access learning and develop independence.

Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with PMLD and complex needs
• Assist with personal care and daily routines where required
• Support sensory‑based learning and communication activities
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Encourage engagement, independence, and wellbeing
• Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment

Person Requirements

• Experience supporting individuals with complex needs or disabilities
• Caring, patient, and supportive nature
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Two satisfactory references

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required
• Relevant SEND experience required, including:
  • Care work
  • Support work
  • SEND school experience
