The Highways Maintenance Inspector will be part of theHighway Asset Management Team acting as the Local Highway Authority within Cityof York Council highway boundary.
Your key duties will be carrying out highway inspections and keeping the highway network safe for the travelling public. This will involvedriving and walking the city network on a regularbasis and requiresmobile working using electronic systems to survey and record actionabledefects.
Once defects are identified you will issue works orders and work closely with Operational Repair Gangs and Site Agents to rectify thesedefects.
The job is varied and has many career routes viaapprenticeships and continued professional development. Training will be given or supported where required, and City of York actively promotes staffdevelopment both on a professional, social, and personal level.
