Purpose of the role
The CYP Project Worker will support children and young people in the Bolton borough to work through trauma as a result of exposure to domestic abuse. Attendance, participation, and collaboration at multi‑agency meetings is a key part of the role.
Responsibilities
- Assess, support, and educate children and young people both individually and in group work sessions.
- Participate in multi‑agency meetings and collaborate with external organisations.
- Provide community‑based support with an office base within our Children, Young People and Education Hub.
- Identify and assist with safeguarding issues and provide practical assistance to help children and young people recover from domestic abuse.
- Deliver services that are needs‑led, offering appointments and support tailored to the individual child or young person.
Qualifications
- Ability to build and develop supportive relationships with children and young people, maintaining professional boundaries.
- Knowledge of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, early help, and adults at risk, and a commitment to follow procedure.
Requirements
- Current valid driving licence.
- Access to a vehicle with business insurance for work.
- Commitment to attend community‑based work across different venues.
