Activity Support Worker – Hub‑Club, London E8

We are looking for a proactive and passionate activity support worker to join our dedicated team supporting adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health challenges, and complex support requirements. This role offers a unique opportunity to support people to be thriving members of their community with a range of activities.

About the Role

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure activities are person-centred and outcome-focused.
  • Plan and facilitate activities within the wider community, using universal services where possible.
  • Maintain constant involvement and consultation with the people using the service and their support network.
  • Organise and facilitate activities at the Hub base, developing these with members.
  • Undertake shift leading and key working responsibilities.
  • Encourage use of public transport for community-based activities.
  • Record all information accurately and appropriately.
  • Create and update club members’ risk assessments and support plans.
  • Assist with any personal care or other needs of attendees.
  • Support attendees to get the most out of their time at all activities.
  • Market the service appropriately.
  • Ensure all media relating to the service (plans, timetables, newsletters, etc.) is accessible and created with the involvement of people using the service.
  • Perform other tasks in line with the role, such as daily cleaning duties and petty cash monitoring.

Essential Criteria

  • Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management in a care/support setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues within supported housing or care environments.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection principles.
  • Ability to plan and facilitate activity groups.
  • Ability to meet targets.
  • Enthusiastic about creating real opportunities for people with a disability.
  • Considerate, patient and fair‑minded.
  • Organised approach.
  • Able to work as a team and proactively.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Staff must have a smartphone capable of receiving SMS messages and installing authentication apps for secure systems access.
  • Right to work in the UK. Outward will not provide visa sponsorship.

Desirable Criteria

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Additional training in PBS and safeguarding.
  • Skill, hobby or passion you can share in activities with the group.
  • Knowledge of developing and delivering training.
  • Ability to mentor and counsel staff.
  • Experience of working with people with a disability.
  • Experience of planning and facilitating activity groups for people with disabilities.
