Learning Support Assistant
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant / Midday Supervisor from September 2026 in either KS1 or Key Stage 2. The role will be to support specific children in either KS1 or KS2, customising learning activities to meet their SEMH needs, providing pastoral and emotional support, and handling handovers between school and home. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but a passion for achieving the best outcomes for all children is more important.
We are a large rural primary school split over three sites. The role will support children in the KS1 and KS2 curriculum and provide a supportive environment for learning and pastoral care.
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, with possible flexibility.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Be proactive, patient and nurturing and provide a strong, positive role‑model
- Secure high rates of progress through lively and engaging learning
- Have a passion for ensuring every child reaches their full potential
- Understand the Primary Curriculum
- Understand the safeguarding and welfare requirements for primary aged children
- Develop the children’s understanding of, and commitment to, the learning process
- Contribute towards a safe, purposeful and rich environment to optimise learning
- Contribute to the learning culture of the school
- Communicate well with children, staff and parents
- Contribute to and use on‑going assessments to measure progress and adapt teaching and learning
- Have the commitment to work closely with all members of the school community
- Be supportive of our church school ethos
- Enjoy working with children
