Overview

Learning Support Worker – SEND at Croydon College. Salary £29,429.59 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of £1,954 Outer London Allowance. FTE: 28 hours per week. Basis: Fixed-term Contract until end of the 25/26 academic year.

Responsibilities

  • work appropriately and effectively with students
  • promote students’ social and emotional development
  • respond calmly and effectively to displayed behaviours
  • work independently and as part of a team
  • use your excellent communication skills to work effectively with class teams, parents/carers and other professionals and keep clear records of support and progress

Qualifications and requirements

Aspiring candidates should have experience with young people with complex needs. Ideally you’ll have experience with autism, health, physical, emotional and behavioural support needs. If not, you may have related experience, be a fast learner, and be able to form good working relationships with students, parents/carers and colleagues. You must be able to demonstrate:

  • the ability to work with students appropriately and effectively
  • ability to promote students’ social and emotional development
  • calm and effective response to challenging behaviours
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • clear communication with class teams, parents/carers and other professionals and accurate record-keeping of support and progress
