£31,756 per annum – depending on skills and experience + company van + standby allowance.

Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours a week.

Location: Saffron Walden and surrounding areas.

Overview

We are at the heart of water recycling. Our key services are delivered by an in‑house skilled workforce. We collect and treat water used by customers, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers feeding over 1,000 recycling centres.

What will you be doing?

You will be a Water Recycling Services Works Technician covering a region around Saffron Walden. You will visit water recycling centres to carry out routine maintenance, ensuring sites operate correctly. This hands‑on job requires working outdoors in all weathers, maintaining, monitoring and adjusting treatment processes. The work is varied and challenging, with no two days the same.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled activities as instructed via a scheduling App or directly from the OMC Technicians or from FLM or Optimiser, as appropriate.
  • Liaise with OMC to reschedule work plans to address any critical compliance issues.
  • Ensure site servicing is performed to keep processes running effectively and efficiently, and tasks are carried out in the correct sequence to maintain compliance.
  • Perform asset care activities (e.g., lubrication schedules) to required standards.
  • Implement actions on Compliance Action Plans.

Qualifications

  • GCSE level education, preferably in English and Mathematics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Confidence and ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • Competency with IT systems.
  • Desirable experience of sewerage design and construction.
  • Strong administrative abilities.
  • Willingness to be flexible and to get on with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Strong sense of process, health and safety.
  • Ability to work quickly using own initiative and solve problems.
  • Full driving licence.
