Overview

The Domestic Care Assistant role at Critchill Court Care Home in Frome involves maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the care home, including communal areas and residents’ bedrooms. The role also includes providing support and engagement to the residents.

Main duties of the job

As a Domestic Care Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the communal areas of the care home are kept clean and safe for residents and employees. This includes dusting, polishing, and vacuuming residents’ bedrooms, while using appropriate warning signs when required. You will also work closely with the home management team to ensure the home meets the standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Additionally, you will provide support, communication, and engagement to the residents.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work
  • 36 hours per week

A day in the life of a Housekeeper

  • Communal cleaning – ensure the communal areas are kept clean and safe for residents and employees.
  • Domestic tasks – dust, polish and vacuum residents’ bedrooms thoroughly and ensuring use of appropriate warning signs when required.
  • Collaboration – work closely with the home management team to ensure the home meets the standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Companionship – Provide support, communication and engagement to residents.

Qualifications

  • No specific qualifications are required, but a minimum of 12 months’ right to work in the UK is needed.
