Job Description:

As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Outpatients team, and the wider multidisciplinary clinical members, to deliver safe, high‑quality and evidence‑based care. You’ll support patients with dignity and kindness whilst helping to ensure services run smoothly and efficiently.

Everyday will be varied, meaningful and patient‑focused, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys teamwork, communication and hands‑on care.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing compassionate, safe and professional care to patients
  • Supporting clinical staff with the delivery and evaluation of patient care plans
  • Carrying out basic nursing procedures under appropriate supervision
  • Undertaking and recording clinical observations accurately
  • Maintaining clear, timely and confidential patient documentation
  • Communicating effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues
  • Contributing to a positive and supportive outpatient team environment
  • Following all policies relating to health and safety, infection control and governance
  • Reporting incidents, accidents and near misses appropriately

About you

  • You’ll be approachable, reliable and committed to delivering excellent care and patient experience.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant.
  • Competence in delivering basic clinical care and observations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Healthcare Assistant qualification (NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3).
  • Care Certificate.
  • Experience taking patient medical histories.
  • Dental and/or Ophthalmic experience.

Location: The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead

Contract: Permanent, Full‑time

Salary: Up to £24,921.00 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
