A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Westminster is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team in a long-term role starting in September 2026.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils across the school who require additional help with their learning, communication and social development. This will include 1:1 support for pupils with Autism (ASD) and communication needs, as well as delivering targeted interventions within EYFS and Key Stage 1.
The SEN Teaching Assistant role is varied and rewarding, giving you the opportunity to work closely with teachers, the SENCO and other support staff to help create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child can succeed.
This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity would be ideal for someone with experience supporting SEN, early years development or behavioural needs, who is patient, adaptable and genuinely passionate about working with children.
Job Description
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs.
- Support children with Autism (ASD), speech and language needs, and communication difficulties.
- Assist with targeted interventions across EYFS and Key Stage 1.
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support personalised learning strategies.
- September 2026 start.
- Full-time / Term Time Only.
- Located in Westminster.
Personal Specification
- Experience supporting children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language or behavioural needs).
- Background in EYFS, childcare, education or support work is highly desirable.
- Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
- Ability to build strong relationships with children and staff.
- Flexible and proactive attitude in a varied school environment.
- Passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
