Job Description:

Support Worker (Sessional)

We are looking for sessional support workers to work across our supported accommodation service, Starting Point. The role offers flexibility around other commitments, covering a variety of shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins, with enhancements paid.

Responsibilities

  • Cover shifts across our homes to ensure we always have enough staff to deliver the best support possible.
  • Support our most vulnerable young people to develop their life skills, engage in education, employment or training, and advocate for them to achieve opportunities and aspirations for the future.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and evidence of work.
  • Work closely with a team and collaborate with others to meet young people’s needs, safeguarding and other responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Understanding of trauma and how it impacts young people.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good record‑keeping skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Kind, compassionate, and committed to helping others.

DBS Statement

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
