Position: Primary Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEND Provision (New School Opening)

Location: North Bristol. Contract Type: Full‑time, long‑term (term‑time only) – starting September (opportunities available in the summer term for the right candidate).

Pay: £14.25 per hour (approx. 35 hours per week) – temp‑to‑perm opportunity.

About the Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
  • Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development.
  • Assist with personalised learning plans and engaging activities.
  • Promote a positive, structured learning environment.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage confidence and progress.

What We’re Looking For

  • Essential: At least 3 months’ experience supporting children or young people with SEND/SEMH (paid, voluntary, or personal).
  • Essential: A genuine passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Essential: Patience, empathy and resilience.
  • Essential: Willingness to obtain (or already hold) an enhanced DBS.
  • Desirable: Experience with SEMH, Autism (ASC) or challenging behaviour.
  • Desirable: Relevant qualifications in education, psychology or childcare.
  • Desirable: A proactive, team‑focused approach.
