Position Overview

An experienced Manufacturing Electronics Engineer is required to join our manufacturing team in Bolton. The role supports all stages of product assembly, calibration and maintenance of test equipment. The salary is circa £45,000, dependent on experience. The position is dynamic (hybrid) and requires five days per week on‑site due to workload classification.

Security Clearance

British Citizen required. All successful candidates must undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE).
  • Support product assembly integration and test across all manufacturing stages.
  • Perform routine and non‑routine tasks such as calibration, commissioning, drift analysis, fault finding and repair, down to component level.
  • Calibrate and support special to type factory test equipment using technologies from DC to Microwave.
  • Collaborate with support functions and engineers across MBDA to resolve issues.
  • Participate in annual reviews to identify development opportunities and broaden engineering knowledge.
  • Work five days per week on‑site; hybrid arrangement is dynamic and may be adjusted based on workload classification.

Qualifications & Experience

  • HNC/HND in Electronics or related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in calibration of test equipment and maintenance of test systems to component level.
  • Ability to use instructions, handbooks, drawings or specifications to provide technical advice and conduct measurements and repairs.
  • Good understanding of calibration principles and processes.
  • Mentoring skills for junior staff, when requested.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
  • Desirable: SAP knowledge.
  • Desirable: experience working on environmental chambers.
