Personal Assistant/Support Worker
Provide personal support to a young man in Biggar who has autism and learning disabilities. The role includes driving, daily care support, and ensuring safety in community settings.
Responsibilities
- Drive to appointments, gym, swimming, museum visits, and DIY stores.
- Assist with reading, prompting water intake, toileting and the use of ear defenders when noise triggers arise.
- Support the individual through sensory overload incidents by providing comfort and reassurance.
- Maintain a calm and reassuring presence in challenging situations.
- Ensure the individual’s personal safety at all times while in the community.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting people with autism.
- Valid clean driving licence and willingness to drive the private employer’s vehicle.
- Patience, compassion, honesty, friendly and supportive attitude.
Job Details
Hours: 14 per week. Pay: £14.45 per hour.
Typical schedule:
- Monday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Wednesday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Thursday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm or 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Days and hours are negotiable.
