Assistant Architect/Junior Designer

We are working with a NYSE listed sportswear corporation to appoint a Junior Designer to join their EMEA retail design team. Based in London, this is an opportunity to contribute to a pan-European store development program, from early concept stage through to on-site execution. You will be a key part of a the small EMEA design team, working directly along side the Senior Retail Designer, as well as supporting the Head of Real Estate and Construction Management Team.

To be successful in the role, you will be:

• A qualified architect or arch assistant (preferably Pt II) with a creative flair.
• Curious about bringing together space, product and experience in-store.
• Confident enough to work across both creative & technical aspects of design.
• Highly organised with the ability to work across multiple projects, with a good level of independence but with the sense to know when to ask for guidance.
• Able to produce accurate layouts, drawings and presentation material through all project stages. Detail focused to enhance global and store brand standards.
• Confident to communicate with and co-ordinate external architects, consultants and engineers.
• Able to participate in site visits, design reviews and project co-ordination meetings. Able to flourish in a ‘get things done’ environment.

Skills & Software

• Strong aCAD, Adobe Suite & 3D Modelling (Rhino preferred).
• Good understanding of materials, detailing & construction processes.
• Keen eye for design, architecture & curation.
• Excellent verbal, written & graphic communication essential (English primary. Other EU languages a benefit).
• Flexible in time & approach for working at/in new target locations/markets.
