Responsibilities
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician you will be supporting the smooth running of our facility, supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to cost-saving initiatives. Based out of our Lutterworth, Magna Park fulfilment centre you will be responsible for completing routine and emergency repairs to equipment, fixtures, fittings and building systems and escalating for additional assistance as is needed. Beyond core facility care, you will also be supporting the Maintenance Engineering Team with complex issues, enabling further development, coaching and gathering additional skills through ‘Real Time’ learning & feedback.

What You’ll Do
- Carry out a wide range of general maintenance tasks and minor repairs across the facility, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
- Adhere strictly to Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules, conducting regular inspections to identify potential faults before they escalate into costly failures.
- Provide hands-on assistance to Maintenance Engineers during complex repairs and challenging technical issues, gaining exposure through “real-time” coaching.
- Act as a point of contact for external contractors, overseeing specific maintenance assignments to ensure work is performed safely and in alignment with Wayfair’s site standards.
- Maintain an organized and accurate inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring the team has the necessary resources to respond to repairs quickly.
- Ensure a safe working environment by conducting Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and other essential safety checks as required by health and safety regulations.
- Actively support internal facility projects and cost-saving initiatives, contributing ideas to improve efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint.
What You’ll Have
Ideally you will already have a background in general maintenance, facilities, electrical, plumbing systems, and contractor management as well as:
- An inquisitive mindset with the ability to diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, ensuring you can clearly report on task progress, escalate issues to the Engineering team, and liaise professionally with stakeholders.
- The ability to drive routine tasks independently while seamlessly pivoting to support the engineering team on high-priority, large-scale challenges.
- Being organised focused, effectively prioritizing urgent emergency repairs alongside planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in navigating modern IT systems and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) applications to log tasks, track inventory, and manage work orders.
