They are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a consulting mindset. This role suits someone comfortable working with ambiguity, engaging directly with stakeholders, and translating complex business challenges into scalable, production-grade data solutions.
In this hands‑on position, you will lead technical delivery while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. You will play a key role in shaping data strategy, guiding best practices, and delivering solutions that are robust, maintainable and user‑focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate ambiguous business problems into clear data and technical solutions
- Design, build and maintain production‑grade data pipelines and models
- Work across modern architectures (data warehouses, lakehouses, event‑driven systems)
- Deliver solutions on cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) using best engineering practices
- Apply CI/CD, testing, and modular design to ensure high‑quality delivery
- Embed data governance, security, and quality standards into all solutions
- Support analytics, experimentation, and AI/ML integration where appropriate
- Communicate insights through clear visualisations and stakeholder‑ready materials
- Collaborate closely with users and stakeholders in Agile delivery environments
Skills & Experience
- Strong SQL and Python for data transformation, modelling and analysis
- Experience with modern data tooling (e.g. Spark/PySpark, Pandas, orchestration tools)
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Redshift, Microsoft Fabric)
- Solid understanding of data architecture and modelling approaches
- Experience with BI/visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices (Git, testing, CI/CD)
- Understanding of data governance, security and compliance considerations (e.g. GDPR)
- Practical exposure to AI/ML concepts and integration approaches
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

- Ability to communicate clearly in client‑facing, ambiguous environments
- Experience producing high‑quality presentations and documentation
