Maintenance Electrician in Barnsley, South Yorkshire

We are seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join a market‑leading international manufacturing organisation based near Barnsley. This role offers upskilling, personal development and a comprehensive benefits package within a growing and secure manufacturing group.

• Salary of £48,200 per annum
• Panama pattern of 12‑hour shifts (days 6 am–6 pm and nights 6 pm–6 am, with every other weekend off)

Responsibilities

• Electrical diagnostic work on PLC systems
• Rapid breakdown fault finding & rectification
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
• Breakdowns, fault finding & repair of complex machinery & ancillaries
• PLC and Controls (Siemens)
• 3‑phase electrical systems & operations
• Initiate improvements in practices, systems & procedures
• Maintain engineering records accurately and present them in a timely manner

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Electrical qualifications
• Time‑served engineering apprenticeship
• Troubleshoot & repair equipment & systems including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic & PLC
• 3+ years experience within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to carry out PPM on machinery
• Installation & commissioning of industrial machinery
