Psychology / Criminology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: East London (Newham). Pay: £95 – £110 per day. Contract: Full-time, long-term. Start Date: ASAP.

About the Role

Vocational Recruitment is recruiting for a Psychology/Criminology Graduate Teaching Assistant in partnership with various primary schools in East London. This long-term SEND Teaching Assistant role will support pupils with SEND on a 1-to-1 basis and provide a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support a pupil with SEND on a 1-to-1 basis.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
• Encourage student engagement.
• Help manage behaviour in a positive and supportive manner.
• Adapt learning materials to meet the individual student’s needs.
• Monitor and record student progress where required.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children with SEND (desirable).
• A degree in Psychology or Criminology (desirable).
• Undertaking a degree in Psychology or Criminology (desirable).
• Knowledge and understanding of SEND.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• A proactive and positive approach to supporting children with their learning.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
