Job Overview
Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) is recruiting Dietetic Support Workers to join our innovative Dietetic Prescribing Support service across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The role supports Dietitians in delivering dietetic care to patients and carers.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across the health care community, including GP surgeries and care homes, to support Dietitians in managing patient care plans.
- Perform administrative duties such as booking visits, updating spreadsheets, and maintaining patient information.
- Provide support to adult patients, travelling to different locations across the city and county.
- Maintain a professional and collaborative working relationship with the dietetic prescribing team.
- Participate in clinical supervision and undertake in‑house CPD as part of continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must:
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car during working hours.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and IT skills.
- Be able to work independently in a flexible environment.
- Have experience in dietetic support or related practice will be advantageous.
Employment Conditions
- Base pay will be agreed based on the geographical area covered.
- Standard working hours, with the possibility of alternative hours or varied working patterns in line with the flexible working policy.
- New staff (excluding medical staff) are subject to a 6‑month probationary period.
- A DBS disclosure is required; the cost will be met by the individual and deducted from salary once started.
- Permission to work in the UK is mandatory for all roles.
