Pay Rate: £14.60 – £16.50 per hour, weekly pay

Your Role as a Support Worker

  • Supporting individuals with mental health conditions in a residential and community setting
  • Deliver day-to-day care to the young person, aligned to their individual care plan and needs, including supporting with daily activities, medication management, meal preparation and any other personal care tasks they may require
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with the young person, whilst maintaining clear and professional boundaries
  • Act as a positive role model for the young person, along with coaching and mentoring them to develop life skills, independence and achieve personal goals, resulting in positive outcomes
  • Create and promote a safe, stable and nurturing home environment
  • Deescalate behaviours and support the emotional regulation of the young person in a person-centred way through approved behaviour management strategies as outlined in the young person s PBS and care plans
  • Consistently identify and mitigate risks relating to the young person, the team or external stakeholders, and where relevant, updating risk assessments and care plans to reflect this

Requirements

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
  • Minimum 6 months experience working with service users with complex mental health needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full manual UK drivers licence
  • Experienced in handling conflicts and challenging behaviour professionally and effectively
  • Takes positive steps to support YPs in achieving their goals and aspirations
  • Provides guidance and support to other members of the care team
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Willingness to undergo training for skill and knowledge development
  • Resilient and calm under pressure

Be able to complete a mixture of days, nights and sleep in shifts if required of up to 40hrs per week.

Ability to build rapport with vulnerable adults.
