Position
SEMH Teacher – Bury. Start Date: ASAP. Salary: £170-£270 per day.
Job Summary
The PRU is looking to appoint a SEMH Teacher on a full‑time, long‑term basis, with the opportunity to go permanent following a successful trial period. The successful SEMH Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons to students with SEMH needs, using strong behaviour management strategies and Team Teach techniques to support and de‑escalate challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons to students with SEMH needs.
- Implement strong behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies.
- Use Team Teach techniques to manage classroom behaviour.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students.
- Support and participate in team teaching and collaborative planning.
Qualifications & Experience
- QTS
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs, ideally within a PRU setting
- Valid Team Teach training
- Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students
- Resilient, patient and adaptable approach
