Position: Academic Intervention Teaching Assistant – Full-timeLocation: Old Swan, LiverpoolStart Date: ASAP – April 2026Salary: 95 – 105 per day (dependent on experience)
The role
- Planning and delivering small‑group academic interventions across KS1
- Supporting pupils in developing core skills in phonics, reading, writing, and maths
- Using Read Write Inc strategies to support early reading development (training/experience desirable)
- Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to class teachers and leaders
- Creating an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and a positive attitude to learning
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and contributing to pupil progress reviews
What we’re looking for
- Experience delivering interventions or supporting learning in a primary setting
- Knowledge or training in Read Write Inc (desirable)
- A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour management and the ability to motivate young learners
- A passion for helping children make academic progress
- The ability to provide two professional references
- Have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
