Career Teachers are currently seeking a resilient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis in a specialist SEN school in the S5 area of Sheffield.
This rewarding role involves supporting secondary-aged pupils who are academically capable but present challenging behaviours, requiring strong behaviour management and a calm, consistent approach.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their potential
- Implement and follow behaviour management strategies consistently
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities
- Help manage challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Support with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Skills & Requirements
- Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly in a secondary setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenges
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Team player with a proactive attitude
- Commitment to supporting young people with additional needs
- Relevant qualifications or training in education/SEND (desirable but not essential)
