Semh Teaching Assistant

Remedy Education is recruiting for a SEMH SEN TA / Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream primary school based in Lewisham. There is a constant flow of work available ranging from daily supply to long‑term roles, and we are looking for dedicated candidates who can work across all key stages or focus on a particular age range. We provide tailored work options and flexible scheduling, including full‑time and part‑time roles.

Responsibilities

• Work in schools across East London.
• Support students with a range of special educational needs, including MLD, SLD, ASD, PMLD, and SEMH.
• Provide class support, 1:1 and small group teaching.
• Work within SEN schools and small class sizes (8‑10 pupils).
• Handle flexible working hours and days, with daily supply, short‑term and long‑term contracts.
• Daily rate varies depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Recent classroom experience in the UK (minimum 3 months essential).
• Previous experience with SEN (SEMH, ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD, complex needs).
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Eligible to work in the UK (valid visa).
• Recent classroom‑based references and valid DBS/police checks.
