Role Overview
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant – Primary Resource Provision for Deaf Children and Young People. This role supports pupils with severe or profound deafness in our 20‑place provision at Ashwood Park Primary, working within the Enhanced Primary Provision framework.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group support to nurture language development and listening skills.
- Provide tailored teaching sessions and enhanced classroom communication support.
- Use oral or SSE/BSL communication approaches in partnership with families, customised to each child’s unique needs.
- Collaborate closely with NHS audiology, the Cochlear Implant Centre, and parents to support the best listening experience for each pupil.
- Support pupils to achieve access to the wider curriculum and mainstream education.
Working Conditions
Location: Ashwood Park Primary
Contract: 19.5 hours/week (0.53 FTE)
Salary: Grade 6 + SEN Allowance
Attendance: Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro‑rata) or onsite full time
