Job Description:

Job Purpose:As part of the Ground Maintenance/Park Staff Team you will be required to ensure the ‘work schedule’ is met in accordance with instructions given to you either by the Head Grounds Person, Senior Staff or the Town Clerk, thereby ensuring that the vision, aims and objectives of the Town Council are met.

Key Accountabilities:To support the Head Grounds Person/Ground Staff by ensuring the day-to-day tasks are addressed in an orderly and timely manner.

Contacts: Councillors, Contractors, Council staff and members of the public.

Key Tasks: Buildings & Repairs, Grounds Maintenance, Play Areas & Public Infrastructure,Equipment & Vehicles.

General Duties

  • Supporting Council events and seasonal work
  • Responding to reactive maintenance requests
  • Working across multiple sites within the town
  • Acting as a visible and professional Council representative

Working Environment

  • Outdoor and indoor working across Council sites
  • Physically active role in all weather conditions
  • Public-facing position requiring professionalism and courtesy
  • Occasional flexible hours depending on workload/events.
