Role Overview

Glenwood Care Home in Ditton, Widnes provides a supportive, home‑like environment for 12 residents across two 6‑bedroom bungalows, Brown House and Hampson House. The temporary Support Worker role is a maternity cover with a minimum contract of 9 months and potential to extend or become permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily routines, personal care and medication as required.
  • Plan and carry out activities and support residents to maintain independence.
  • Work with the nursing team to provide safe and effective care, including the administration of medication, catheter care and nebulisation.
  • Support residents through morning to evening shifts, including waking night shifts where appropriate.

Schedule

Shifts run from 07:45 to 20:15, with waking night shifts supported by a nurse on duty at all times.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Kind, enthusiastic, and positive approach to care.
  • Prior experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, or Healthcare Worker is desirable, but not required. New candidates with a passion for caring are welcome.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support residents with a range of health needs.
