Electrical Craftsperson

Electrical Craftsperson (Shifts: 4 on / 4 off) – Dunbar Cement Plant, Edinburgh

We’re looking for an Electrical Craftsperson to join our 24/7 maintenance team on the Dunbar Cement Plant located near Edinburgh. The role involves working with electrical and process control equipment across the plant in a large‑scale continuous process cement manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise safety at all times, demonstrating a strong understanding of health, safety and environmental standards, electrical isolations, permit systems and safe working practices within a heavy industrial environment.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and carry out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on plant equipment in a safe and timely manner.
• Apply existing knowledge or quickly develop expertise in a wide range of equipment, including instrumentation, PLCs, DCS/SCADA systems, LV & HV motors, switchgear, motor control centres, control gear, AC & DC systems, variable speed drives, industrial communications systems and specialised control panels.
• Carry out systematic electrical fault finding across power, control and process systems within a live production environment.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections during shift periods.
• Assist operations teams in identifying and resolving plant reliability and process issues.
• Support shutdown activities and major maintenance works across the site.
• Work across a large industrial site, including outdoor plant areas, substations, elevated structures and dusty process environments.
