Site Technician – Preston/ Lancashire – Field Based
Location:Preston, Lancashire (Field-based, with nationwide travel)

XAIS-PTS Ltd is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and technically minded individuals to join our growing team as a Site Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting on-site testing, inspections, and sampling of structures and pavements
- Operating survey vehicles and specialised testing equipment
- Managing and verifying data, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of survey results
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and industry regulations
- Performing minor repairs and troubleshooting equipment on-site as needed
- Documenting daily activities, reporting, and maintaining clear communication with the team
- Maintaining and servicing vehicles/equipment as required
- You’ll travel extensively, often working away from home, including overnight stays, night shifts, and weekends as projects demand
Person Specification
Must-Have:
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Willingness and ability to work nationwide and regularly be away from home
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
Ideal to Have:
- Experience in sampling, testing, or highway surveying
- Valid CSCS card
- Technical proficiency with survey equipment, computers, and data management systems

- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive, “can-do” attitude
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary between £27,000 – £32,000 (depending on experience).
