Pressbrake General Operators

This hands‑on role is ideal for someone with experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment who takes pride in producing high‑quality work.

You will be responsible for operating CNC press brake machinery and other metal‑forming equipment to produce sheet metal components for a wide range of customers, including many world‑class blue‑chip companies.

Training and support provided to ensure ongoing development and progression within the business.

Applicants must be 18 or over for health and safety reasons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate press brake and associated metal‑forming machinery.
  • Configure bend allowances for a variety of materials (stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel).
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Load and unload components to and from machinery efficiently and safely.
  • Create and modify multi‑fold programs to ensure parts meet drawing requirements.
  • Select appropriate punches, dies, and tooling based on material specifications and design radii.
  • Use dimensional and precision measurement tools to verify product accuracy.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, productivity, and safety at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production process.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Takes responsibility for the quality, quantity, and inspection of work performed.
  • Previous experience in engineering, manufacturing, or metal fabrication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive approach to work.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machine operations (preferred but not essential).

Qualifications

  • Experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Engineering or manufacturing‑related qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated competency in operating machinery or equipment safely and effectively.
