Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity with a well-established waste and recycling company operating across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking long-term stability, regular work, and the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
Newly qualified (new pass) drivers are welcome to apply
Working Pattern
- Temp-to-perm position with long-term prospects
- Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts available
- Early morning starts (typically 6:00am-7:00am)
- Full-time hours with overtime opportunities during busy periods
Pay Rates
Monday to Friday
- £14.50 per hour (PAYE)
- £16.25 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
Overtime – After 8 Hours
- £19.32 per hour (PAYE)
- £21.66 per hour (PAYE Advanced)

The Role
- Operating a Class 2 vehicle on waste and recycling collection routes
- Working as part of a team alongside loaders
- Completing scheduled routes across Edinburgh and surrounding areas
- Ensuring safe, efficient collection of waste and recycling materials
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing paperwork
- Following strict health & safety procedures at all times
- Providing a reliable and professional service
Requirements
- Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum 9 penalty points (No DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements)
- Physically fit and comfortable with an active outdoor role
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious attitude
