Specialist Support Worker

We are Eden Futures, a provider of support services for adults aged 18 and over who have learning disabilities, autism, mental ill health and associated complex needs. The role is based across our Supported Living services, supporting individuals in their own homes and in the community to live as independently as possible.

Compensation: This hourly role is paid at £13.20 per hour, equating to an annual salary of £28,828.80 based on a 42‑hour working week. The annual figure is for illustration only and will be pro‑rated according to hours worked. Successful candidates also qualify for a £500 bonus through our refer‑a‑friend scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support service users to lead a full and active life in line with their wishes and choices, considering their assessed needs and individualized support and care plans.
  • Assist individuals to stay safe, taking appropriate action to safeguard their welfare and protect them from abuse wherever possible.
  • Provide emotional support when needed, maintaining a person‑centred approach.
  • Support service users to participate in chosen social activities, manage finances and medication responsibly, help with practical tasks around the home, and respectfully assist with personal care, hygiene and healthcare.
  • Act as an informal point of contact for people in the service users’ support circles (e.g., families and social workers).
  • Accurately report and record any issues related to the care and support of service users to monitor their health and wellbeing.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations and consider the health, safety and welfare of others.

  • Caring and compassionate, with a genuine passion for helping service users lead a full and active life.
  • Positive mindset, able to remain optimistic even on challenging days.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and also demonstrates initiative and willingness to support colleagues.
  • Minimum 6‑12 months of experience working within the care sector.
