About the Role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors. You’ll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, and you’ll provide excellent customer service as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check your delivery routes for the day.
  • Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
  • Complete all appropriate vehicle safety checks and maintain full road compliance, health and safety.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road, with great customer service as your number one priority.
  • Help customers with their shopping and build a rapport with them based on trust and service.
  • Support the wider shop team when required with general shop‑keeping tasks.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting crates, moving cages).
  • Comfortable working independently with the ability to be self‑motivated and adaptable.
  • IT literate.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.

Pay: £14.31 per hour

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: 22 hours per week – varied hours across seven days to include early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.

Job Level: Partnership – Level 10
