Estates Senior Technician

Are you a qualified Electrical or Mechanical Technician with hands‑on experience in complex estates plant? Join our Estates Engineering Team and play a pivotal role keeping our Trust’s critical services running 24/7. You’ll work on a shift rota with on‑call duties, tackling Planned Preventative Maintenance, emergency breakdowns and installations across multiple sites.

Main duties of the job

  • Operate on a shift system plus on‑call, responding to breakdowns and job requests both day and night
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and in‑depth fault‑finding on generators, fire alarms, lighting and power, distribution boards, boilers, air‑handling units, chiller plant, medical gas systems, calorifiers and hot & cold‑water network
  • Perform installations and refurbishments of building fabrication
  • Evaluate and respond effectively to emergency situations, prioritising safety for patients, staff and the public
  • Conduct and document your own risk assessments for medium and high‑risk tasks
  • Ensure strict compliance with Trust policies, statutory standards and health & safety legislation

Qualifications

  • Relevant practical experience and either ONC Elec/Mech or HNC Elec/Mech or equivalent technical qualification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Supporting information demonstrates knowledge of electrical/mechanical/building services legislation
  • Previous roles involved working with IT systems
