Role Responsibilities
- Promote educational, vocational and online learning opportunities across the Centre, including English and Maths.
- Assess learners’ ESOL and skills levels, adapting learning approaches to overcome barriers where possible.
- Design, develop and deliver modular and advanced learning programmes that meet individual needs and contractual requirements.
- Deliver accredited vocational programmes (including OCN), maintaining quality standards and compliance.
- Create a safe, secure and positive learning environment that encourages attendance, participation and achievement.
- Monitor attendance, retention and achievement, contributing to continuous improvement strategies.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, in line with company and external agency requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support cultural events, workshops and activities across the Centre.
- Ensure effective use, maintenance and security of learning resources, tools and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- An appropriate teaching qualification with relevant teaching experience.
- In-depth knowledge of vocational skills within your area of specialism.
- Experience delivering learning in English and/or Maths or similar subject areas.
- Flexibility to support evening and weekend provision.
- Eligibility for CTC clearance.
- Valid British passport or EU passport with share code, having lived and worked in the UK for at least three years with no extended overseas travel.
- No criminal convictions or ongoing police investigations.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience delivering skills workshops or vocational training.
- Previous experience working within a custodial or secure environment.
- Experience supporting ESOL learners, with a patient and empathetic approach to language barriers.
Resident Care and Management

- Listens carefully to residents, including picking up on unspoken communication.

- Diffuses anger and worries in residents.
- Acts upon signs of distress, self‑harm or anger.
- Encourages residents to express their concerns, take responsibility for their behaviour and participate in activities and programmes.
- Is observant.
