Role Description
We are hiring a full‑time Yard Operative for our Wantage branch. In this on‑site role, you will support day‑to‑day operations by loading and unloading deliveries, maintaining a clean and organized yard, assisting with inventory management, and ensuring materials are correctly stored and accessible. You will also interact with customers, fulfilling their orders efficiently and providing excellent service while ensuring safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience in materials handling, loading/unloading goods, and stock management
- Good communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a working environment
- Ability to operate forklifts or machinery (desired, though training can be provided)
- Experience within the building, plumbing, or electrical trades is an advantage
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable and self‑motivated, with the ability to work as part of a team
