FLT and Waste Operative

Job Details

• Salary: £14.68 per hour
• Hours: 38.5 hours per week
• Shift Pattern: 7 pm to 7 am, 4 days on / 4 days off
• Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift truck within a health‑and‑safety conscious warehouse environment.
• Load and unload pallet trailers and load cardboard and plastic bales onto trailers.
• Sort, move and stack pallets.
• Maintain all equipment in a clean, well‑maintained state and ensure it is in safe working order.
• Perform miscellaneous cleaning duties and support the waste team.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all health and safety legislation.

Qualifications

• Counter‑balance forklift licence.
• Minimum 3 months of forklift operating experience (preferred).
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
• Fluent in English; may be required to complete an English language assessment.
• Ability to complete appropriate documentation and adhere to the required shift pattern.
• Completion of a basic disclosure (DBS check) and drug and alcohol screening test.
