About the Role

Leeds City College are seeking a Dog Grooming teacher to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. This is a new provision for the college in a new campus facility, so it’s an exciting time to join us.

This role will be based predominantly at Temple Newsam, but on occasion there may be the requirement to also work at other campuses such as Printworks or the University Centre. This role includes practical delivery in a dog grooming salon, and the successful candidate should have experience working in similar settings.

The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships and Higher Education (HE). Whilst this role will predominantly be working with Further Education (FE) students we will require the successful candidate to demonstrate flexibility and be able to work with a variety of learners.

We envisage this role starting in September 2026. The position is part time (29.6 hours, 4 days per week) and permanent. There may be the opportunity to make this role full time in the future.

  • Deliver and assess learning: plan and deliver inspiring lessons using diverse teaching methods, providing timely, constructive feedback to students.

  • Have experience working within a dog grooming salon.
  • Have a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
