About the role

Rutland County Council, ranked as a top performing local authority in England for Adult Social Care, is offering two Social Worker positions in the Adult Social Care Contact and Response Team. Both roles are part of a supportive multidisciplinary team that provides advice, triage, assessment and short‑term intervention to adults who may require support.

Job Details

  • Full‑time Social Worker – 2‑year fixed‑term contract, 37 hours per week.
  • Part‑time Social Worker – maternity cover for 12 months, 26.25 hours per week.

Duties

  • Undertake Care Act assessments and develop outcome‑focused support plans.
  • Provide information, advice and signposting to individuals, carers and professionals.
  • Triage referrals and contribute to timely decision‑making within a busy front‑door service.
  • Complete Mental Capacity Assessments, Best‑Interest decisions and Decision Support Tools.
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, following Rutland safeguarding procedures.
  • Facilitate the use of personal budgets and direct payments.
  • Work collaboratively with health colleagues and other partner agencies.
  • Maintain accurate and high‑quality case recording in line with service standards.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to at least Level 2 and registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced and reflective.
  • Confident working within a front‑door Adult Social Care Service.
  • Able to make timely and proportionate decisions to support adults.
  • Able to manage risk effectively.
