Job Description:

Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) is seeking a Bank Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to work 2 ½ days per week, with flexibility across weekdays.

This role requires a candidate with specialism in Paediatric Dysphagia. It is a band 7 bank role and suitable for an experienced Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist with paediatric dysphagia experience who is looking to progress specialist skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a highly specialist speech and language therapy service to children with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with speech and language therapy colleagues, parents and carers, education staff, and multidisciplinary health professionals.
  • Deliver specialist assessment and management of paediatric dysphagia, eating and drinking difficulties, and complex communication needs.
  • Apply advanced clinical reasoning and evidence‑based practice within paediatrics.
  • Use a client‑centred goal‑setting approach to develop and provide individual Speech & Language Therapy treatments and programmes.
  • Work autonomously to assess and treat your caseload and maintain professional documentation.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with referring services (MDTs, primary & secondary care services, voluntary and third sector organisations) to facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Contribute to training, supervision, and support for speech & language therapists and other professionals.

Qualifications

  • Specialist‑level experience in paediatric dysphagia aligned with the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists Interprofessional Dysphagia Framework.
