Overview

Are you a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of secondary school students? We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit in Haringey, London. This is a rewarding and challenging role that will allow you to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need it most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages personal and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with a team of support staff, therapists, and specialists to provide holistic support for students.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Attend meetings with parents, guardians, and other relevant stakeholders to provide updates on student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of special educational needs and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and legislation related to special education.
  • Experience working in a PRU or alternative provision setting (desirable but not essential).

Remuneration

You will be paid the permanent equivalent pay for the job after 12 full weeks.

Requirements for Application

As part of our registration process, you will need an enhanced DBS check and a copy of your original qualifications before any placement. Teaching roles require Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
