The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 6 class during the Autumn Term, guiding pupils through an important stage of their primary education and helping prepare them for a smooth transition into the rest of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Supporting pupils’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing
- Preparing pupils for SATs foundations and maintaining high expectations
- Using assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform planning
- Providing support and challenge for all learners, including SEND and higher‑attaining pupils
- Working closely with the parallel Year 6 teacher, support staff, and leadership team
- Contributing positively to the wider school community
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
- Has a secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Is organised, adaptable, and enthusiastic about teaching
- Brings energy, commitment, and a proactive attitude to the role
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with relevant KS2 placement experience are also encouraged to apply

- Contract: Full‑Time, Maternity Cover
- Duration: 1 Term (Autumn Term)
- Start Date: September 2026
- Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
