As part of this growth, the business is seeking an exceptional Business Development Director to take ownership of investor origination, engagement, and capital development strategy. This is a highly influential role suited to a commercially astute and relationship-driven individual capable of building a more proactive, scalable, and sophisticated investor engagement function.

The role

  • Identify, engage, and convert prospective investors across entrepreneurial, executive, private equity, and high-net-worth communities
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with both existing and prospective investors through consistent, high-quality engagement
  • Lead investor origination and capital development activities, driving growth in both investor quality and overall investment capacity
  • Develop and execute a structured investor outreach and engagement strategy to support long-term fundraising objectives
  • Increase participation and engagement levels across the current investor network
  • Work closely with senior leadership and investment teams to align capital raising activity with wider investment strategy and deal flow
  • Represent the business externally with professionalism, credibility, and strong commercial judgement

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in investor relations, capital raising, business development, or private markets within private equity, investment management, or broader financial services
  • Demonstrated success building and developing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, executives, or sophisticated investors
  • Strong understanding of private equity investment models, investor expectations, and commercial deal structures
  • Commercially driven with the ability to originate and convert opportunities independently
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a high-performance, growth-focused environment
  • Strong organisational capability with experience implementing structure and process around business development activities
  • High levels of professionalism, credibility, and personal gravitas
