Overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cover Teacher to join our fantastic team at MEA Central. This is a permanent position on teaching terms, MPS‑UPS, to start in September 2026.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified to teach and work in the UK with successful experience in the 11‑16 phase.
  • Thorough subject knowledge and an understanding of current curriculum developments; good communication skills and ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • Ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning.
  • Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people; a committed team player with excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.

Main Purpose of the Job

  • Teach a range of subjects to high school students at a high standard across the Academy to support planned and unplanned absences.
  • Responsible for improving the standards of learning and raising levels of student achievement for all students; expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers.

  • Provide high‑quality instruction and maintain educational continuity.
  • Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and student needs.
  • Manage classrooms effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Support the school’s vision and ethos by working collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Engage with students’ learning and provide feedback on their progress.
